Hey, Clink,
Thanks for all the pictures of your snow. It makes me know what I am missing(but not much). We did have freezing rain here today but then I just stay in! I use the pumpkin any way you would use pumpkin or butternut squash. I found a great pumpkin-oatmeal muffin recipe online. I've made pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin bread, pumpkin bars and roasted it with potatoes, onions and added beets. I've haven't made pumpkin pie, but only because I'm too lazy to make pie dough. I'm sure with all these snow days, you're getting caught up on all your projects, right? I love your blog because you write like you talk - fast! I can just hear you when I read your blog! Carol

Oh, but it IS heaven! True, it's cold and wintery, but think upon this....there are no skyscrapers in those pictures, no cars honking and belching exhaust, no concrete jungle, no neighbor so close to you that you can touch their house by leaning out your own window (and hear their stereo all night long). There are trees and grasses and beautiful open skies, there are snowdrifts like the meringue atop a pie, whipped by a clean and crisp wind. There is space to grow, air to breathe, and sleeping ground, ready to burst forth with life in the spring. I see heaven, you just have to look a little more closely than usual (and wear a scarf when you do!).

Claire -- that is so right!!! Its just hard when you have to be in town for work and I would much rather stay at home.

Thanks for stopping by and seeing us on the east coast of Iowa.
