A letter............

Dear Popular Kids ...

You. 

Yes, you.  You that wouldn't let me hang out with you cuz I wasn't cool enough.

Yea ... I was short.   I wasn't athletic.  I wasn't the super smart kid. I never dated the football stars.  (Yea ... I know.  I never dated!!)

I wasn't cool.

Today.... I met the President of the United States and the First Lady.

I got to hug them.  I got to shake their hands.  I had my picture taken with both of them.

The First Lady said I was cool.

Yea .... she said I was cool.

I'm good with that.

Go Miss Effie. I'd say you are waaay cooler than the popular kids, who are by now frantically having parts lifted, injected and tucked to hang on to their youth. I'd also say you are much more interesting than they'll ever be. Just keep on being yourself.
